front oil cap on 1989 jeep wrangler 4 cylinder leaks?

Asked by cstepp Oct 24, 2013 at 11:33 AM about the 1989 Jeep Wrangler

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have changed oil cap on top of valve cover various times, PCV valve is working and not obstructive as well as the filter on rear of top valve cover.  After driving oil seems to be pushed out from under the oil cap and pool on top of valve cover.  There is also no damage to the area on top of valve cover where oil cap goes.  Oil pressure is normal

You may also check the grommet for the PCV valve. I had a grommet damaged on the underside of the valve cover not allowing the PCV to go completely in ad therefore allowing oil to come out.
