My 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneers rear window stopped working. Motor works fine but window won't go down. Anyone know how to fix?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
The rear window stopped working so
I thought it was the motor. I
disconnected the plate that's
attached to the rear door and
disconnected the motor and
powered it dirrctly with a 12v battery.
The window worked so I know it's
not the motor. Someone suggested it
could be the switch but I'm not sure
how to test it. Any ideas? Thank you

Have you by chance looked at your fuses yet? My Wagoneer gets picky about how well the fuse is in the box under the dash. Other than that, may I suggest lubricating the moving parts as well as the channels for the window? It may be receiving the power but is meeting too much resistance
