my jeep over heated and not quite sure why

in your other post you said you had to replace your valve cover gasket. was it leaking all over the engine? if so you should use some engine degreaser on it. my wagoneer was running hot and i did that and now it runs a lot cooler.

it could also be alot of other things. check the serpentine belt tension. check your radiator fluid and make sure your electric fan is kicking on. it coould also be the thermostat.
