Was there a standard and a deluxe model of the 1962 Volkwagen ?

Asked by bunda Feb 19, 2007 at 09:02 PM about the 1962 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: General

Was there a model of the sedan that had more chrome and added features besides the standard 'plain' model ?

Hello, The "deluxe" model of the Beetle was introduced in 1949 with different color choices and chrome bumpers. By 1955, the Deluxe was the only Beetle exported to the US. So, yes, there were two versions of this car, but only the higher end was available in the States. Best of luck! CarGrrl
