Mine was just a few dollars under $2,000, including taxes and fees. I had a sunroof, pop-out rear windows, AM radio and leather upholstery, which ran it up a little.

$1595.00 1963 blue with white wall tires and radio.

I remember a brand new 1962 VW Beetle cost $695.00 period!

My first car was a 1963 Bug Light Blue with white vinyl interior. AM Radio, NO heater. no gas gauge, 37,000 miles. $250.
