I have a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. It has been in my family since 1971. It is totally intact and in great shape. What is it worth?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Here is a picture of our 1969 Volkswagen Beetle.  We have owned it since 1971.  It has not been driven in 10 years (garage kept). The car is totally intact and original.  I am considering selling it and was wondering what the car would be worth.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.  I am located in the Chicagoland area.

the prices on these cars varies greatly depending on location. for example here in oklahoma, that car would be worth somewhere in the 6 grand range as long as everything works and it's not eaten up with rust. on the other side, in california that car would be worth somewhere in the 2500 dollar range. they have more variety of cars to choose from, and lack the rust problems that we have around here. you should check classifieds around your area and see what like cars are bringing. also check thesamba.com. they have a huge classifieds section with cars from all over the us and overseas. you can check there and see what cars in your area are worth. i know i've seen several cars from the chicago area in the last few months on thesamba.
