My generator isn't working on my 1970 beetle.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's brand new. I've polarized it. I changed all of my connectors and my voltage
regulator too.

Make sure the charge light turns on when you turn on the key, that light is part of the exciter circuit so it has to work. If that is good and you have ohmed out all the other wiring then it is most likely a bad generator, just cause it is new doesn't mean it is a good one especially these days with quality in the toilet.

Thank you. My charge light turns on on my dash. This might be a good thing i might turn it into a alternator.
