How can I tell where gas is leaking from underneath my 1972 vw beetle?

Asked by Sherrall Jan 12, 2014 at 07:49 AM about the 1972 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had a slow gas leak for several weeks now and have been unable to pinpoint the source.  I was parked on an incline (nose up) yesterday and lost approximately 1/4 of a tank of gas.  Any suggestions?

Use of a small extension inspection mirror might be helpful to find the leak.
