What is the stock diameter/offset/bolt pattern for the 1973 beetle?

Asked by TRDoug Apr 04, 2007 at 05:21 PM about the 1973 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: Car Customization

My friend is reapainting and doing some small custom upgrades to his 1973 Beetle and me being a car guy, he asked me what size rims would fit. What is the stock offset, diameter and bolt pattern (example: my celica is 5x100) I would also like to know the stock tire size that went on the stock rims so I can calculate the maximun rim/tire combo that will fit.

BigWheels.net had the answer, TRDoug. According to them, a '73 Beetle has a 4x130 bolt pattern and a 0 to 35 offset range. Wheel size range is 13x5.0 to 17x7.0, and the OEM tires were 165/80-15. Hope that helps!

I put some 235's on the beetle rims. Looked cool after I finally got them to seal. Real tough to balance.
