My right headlight will only work on high beam.

this should be easy. first turn lights on low beam. now check power to driver side headlight. see which wire has 12 volts(should be yellow one)? now go check passenger side (same wire color). got power? if so, then bad ground. if no power, start tracing back up that wire to the fuse box. check at fuse box to make sure you have power going out of the fuse to the light. you either have a bad ground, a bad wire going to the headlight, a bad fuse at the box, or a bad/broked contact on the fuse box. the headlight power goes like this.... from light switch to dimmer relay. from relay to fuse box. at fuse box power splits to two fuses, one for right side, one for left side. see if one side works, your problem will be from fuse box down to headlight.

Check the output voltage at the relay, if it work then you should check the voltage at the back of the fuse panel connection.Have to chech the volts at the socket in the back of the headlight, check the correct color code at the connection and the position pf the cables at the socket.Operate the relay and verify that the volts are feeding the soket.

You can skip checking the relay. the relay has one wire that feeds both low beam lights. If only one is working the relay is putting out power. your problem will be between the fuse box and the headligjt thats not working.

Just got a 2005 VW Beetle new battery car will not start. I thought the lights was the problem. How do the lights go off. Do you have to pull up brake for lights to be off?
