2007 Bettle Cabriolet - Passenger Door wont unlock

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2007 VW Beetle Cabriolet and my passenger door will not unlock with the key fob or buttons inside the car. It eventually opens if i turn the engine off, take the key out and repeatedly press the lock and unlock button on the inside of the drivers door. But i need it working as it should as this is a fire hazard.

Your likely problem is the actuator is either A) blown out or B) stuck from lack of lubrication. Try grabing a can of wd40 and spraying it in the lock actuator. for this you will probly need to remove the door panel. Most vws has 2 screws on the top either end of hte door and remove the inner handle panel behind the door latch and the door pull handle then push up and pull back.
But what if the door will not unlock, how can it be opened?
then you may need to get inside the car or just saturate the key hole with wd 40 a few times and jsut keep jiggling the key back and forth till it moved freely and properly

Thank you but there is no key on the passenger side
ok then grab the slider in the door and just keep trying to unlock it by pumping it up and down till it unlocks. other wise you will need to remove the door panel. it is possible to remove it from inside the car but it will cause you to break a couple spots where the bolts are hold at the top of either side of the door.

Hi I have a passenger door problem. It wont open from inside or out. its 2007 model. the lock pops up briefly when you use the handle from inside but wont open the door and goes back down. ive sprayed what WD40 I can get to it from inside and out. Any idea's would be fantastic. Taking the door panel off looks complicated. Penny
