This does not pertain to your question but I just have to ask. Have you had your car checked for recent recalls? If not I would do it ASAP. Serious ignition issues with the cobalt that can lead to injury or death.
You have to use a coded key first by inserting it into ignition starting the car then shut off then put new key in and start the car and shut it off. Then its programme . Eas .
