Check engine light

Just had my license plate light socket
replaced at a garage.immediately
afterwards as I drove away the check
engine light came on could this be
relate? I brought it right back they are
looking at it hut they said it isn't
related. Could it be they loosened
another wire by accident?

Normally they are not related items. You need to find out what the Check engine "Code" is? You can get the engine scanned for free at Auto Zone or Pep Boys shops Just ask at the counter

possibly, but the easiest thing to do would be to stop by an autozone or some place similar, they can pull the codes for free and tell you what caused the MIL to go on. or you can even buy your own reader nowadays for under $10 on amazon, that's a great tool to have
