Car jerks, vibrate and stalls, stops after reversing?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Chevy HHR and I just bought it used less than 2 months ago. The car will stall when driving, especially up hills. It will sometimes jerk and vibrate when I turn it on and this usually happens after I have driven it recently. If it does start to shake and jerk and I reverse and brake to put it in drive, the car will no longer accelerate. I have to put it in park, turn it off and then on and then make sure not to come to a complete stop for several miles.

The only suggestion I have is get your OBD codes scanned, Too many possibilities to start wild guesses
