my car was sitting for awhile but I would start it every now and then but now I'm not getting fuel though my injectors but the fuel pump is pumping fuel, I changed the filter

my car starts and will run great. then it will die out and not start. then it will start and run for awhile, then die. has anyone ever heard of a fuel pump working 1 minute and not the next?
