what could be causing my 73 grand prix to stall afer driving about 10 miles?

Asked by Guru94TWG May 29, 2017 at 04:15 PM about the 1973 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my car has been staling after about 10 miles of driving. If I catch it starting to die I can shift to neutral and it will work on for a while, I have installed a new gas cap, gas tank,  battery, starter, alternator, fuel pump, and have had the electrical checked.

This has a carburetor, I am guessing. What size engine is in there? I had a Buick of the same year and class. I would suggest you take the carburetor off and apart. There is a rubber bellow inside and that is the number one failure item. If it has a small pin hole.....it will stall out....my past experience

and will work for a little bit....but the hole will become bigger.....and will not start after a while at all
