2007 Hyundai Tucson battery wire?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My battery has been dying every other day
and it’s a brand new battery, and I noticed this
cable attached to it leading no where and
connected to nothing but every time I put
jumper cables on the battery the anti theft
goes off

Doesn't look like a factory installed cable. Probably something someone added to maybe run a radio or something else for tailgating, camping, etc. Remove it and charge the battery. Hope that helps! Jim

Just to confirm. Are you aware of the recall on the ignition issue on the 2007 Tucson. In my case. Pulling the key out of the ignition does not necessarily turn off power to all the accessories...car chimes when you open driver door. If you encounter this, the battery will drain depending on what was left on. My work-around was to just push on the ignition switch with my thumb until you hear a click. Hope this helps with the battery drain issue.
