An ordinary automotive battery, depending on quality, should last 5 years or more, a $40 WalMart battery not so much, and if you are wondering if the battery in your Buick is original and is it time for a new one, yes, now or soon. If it's giving you trouble, it is not unreasonable for it to have gone it's lifespan.
