timming belt

they recommend at 60'000 but you will be good to 90'000
probally not but your the one risking an blown up engine, its best to change it, but its your gamble
I wouldn't go more than 70,000 miles without changing it. Timing belts stretch over time and if they jump a tooth your lookin at a blown motor. It's may seem like a major job to change it, but its a lot cheaper to be safe and do it than to wait and risk major engine damage

you should make and exact date or year on when to change the timing belt and have other aspects of the car checked.if warranty is still available, use it and it's free.. thats called preventive maintenance...

We just replaced the timing belt on my wife's Tucson and it had almost exactly 90,000 miles. It cost $620 with the water pump, pulleys and seals.
i had 152,000 before i changed . that belt looked new, im kind of pissed i didnt wait ...but im glad i did
what could be the reason for changing the cambelt at 44000. miles?
