I have a 2005 Chevy truck 1500 is the fan
supposed to stay on when truck is running

Depends is it a clutch fan? Electric fan? Neither? Because fan only stays on for 2 reasons either PCM is reading hot per one of the sensors or AC is on. Now the fan could be rigged!
