Headlight housing assembly

Question type: General
I have a 2005 trailblazer. My question is, how does
the headlight housing come apart so I can replace
the wires and connectors? The orginal wires
melted because they are to small of a gauge wire.

I'm pretty sure both grill styles are the same. I'm going to refer to the grill type where the 1pcs goes through the middle of each headlight assembly with the Chevy emblem in the middle, normally chrome in color. Only way to open them is to put them in an oven (look up retrofit headlights for TB's), they are glued shut. Now as far as the wiring, these don't have any wiring into them. Only bulbs turn in them. Soooo, you need to get new pigtails that can be pluged into the lightbulbs, which in turn can be put into the headlight housing. To remove the headlight assembly, remove the grill with long chrome piece that goes from headlight to headlight, it pops right off, start in the middle, work your way out, takes 30 seconds to remove. After removed, look at the top of the headlight, pop the 2 metal L bracket looking things on each side, this will allow you to remove the entire assembly, and allow easy access to fix your pigtails.
