Car won't start unless plugged into the block heater

I have a 2004 Chevy aveo That recently
stopped starting up unless it is plugged in
to the block heater , this has been going
on for a week now , we have had colder
days and it started up fine but lately it
won't start without it being plugged in ,
why is this and is there a filter I should
replace or something I should be replacing
it fix this problem ???? Help

The block heater should be an antifreeze heating tool only. It should have an impact, but it the engine is up to date with maintenance (sparkplugs, wires, fuel and air filters at least) maybe is just a tune-up thing.
Oh, and forgot... The 1.6L also has this IAC valve that gets stuck/faulty, can you try starting the car with a little gas? (about 10- 15% of the gas pedal pushed?)
Your engine heater does heat up the coolant, but also heats up the block. Tune-up as suggested, but a car will still start if it has a weak spark. Probably should have the coil pack tested at the auto parts store. The spark needs to be white in color, not orange in color, indicating a weak spark.
How cold is it? Have you been buying fuel at a different place?
