this pitcher is obviously sum sort o pipe, look to see if there are no bear wires touching anywhere under the hood of your automobile, does it run on gas or diesel???? I think its a diesel so you only get the glow when the heat is on, on cold start so check for a bare wire, 10-4, drive on son
I removed the intake, this is the top of the motor, you can see the distributor in the picture, all loose things have a place to go, They are only loose to provide for a better view under the hood. The car runs on gasoline, not diesel at all (2.8l v6).
you guys.... come on!... That is the cold start injector.. It works when your starter motor is turning over to get your car engine going.. It makes no sense that it is getting red hot, but you might try unplugging the injector connector to it and see if it is still "red hot". Just as an FYI, this is a hard to find part and very expensive one at that.. The cold injector will run you upward of $275... if you can find one.. I think it is used on some Corvettes too if I remember so hang onto your wallet if that is the case and it has gone south. That line you are pointing to is the fuel line leading to the injector located just below the picture's bottom.. that metal line is only about 8" long from the fuel rail. Is your car running good normally? This injector shoots only when you start your car, to give it an extra little umph to get the engine turned over and running.. I would think if it were squirting all the time, it would flood your engine and run rough as hell. Try this: Start and unplug injector plug from it and see if hot. If you pull it free of the fuel rail, plug the hole that pipe plugs into and put a plug into the injector hole on the intake manifold and see if it works..
