Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008  Jeep Patriot. The esp bas,

been on steady and I have been driving it.
Today when I drove it the esp bas and
traction control light went out,  the 4wd!
Light started flashing. When it was flashing I
had no breaks at all.  Ideas what it could be?

I had the exact same issue on a 2006 Cherokee. I replaced the wheel hub assembly ( which contains an abs sensor as well) and the issues and lights disappeared. Cost me 300 for the part but I did it myself. Garage will probably try to get 1000 or so for this type of repair I imagine.
