ETC and Traction control lights on 2008 Jeep Patriot.

I know this isn't the point of your post but I'm curious as to which front tire and why it almost flew off. I ask because I have had all the same issues you stated except for the tire. However, my front drivers side tire doesnt feel right I've asked 2 diff mechanics about it and always ask them to double check it when I get my oil changed. I always get the same answer "it seems fine to me...it's on there" but if I hit the littlest bump, even a little lane devider reflector you can hear it and feel it big time!
I’ve had the ETC and traction control light issue as well but on my 2014 patriot. It never got to the point where it went into limp mode completely but It did lose power and regained it while driving. I managed to fix it by putting a new throttle body on from rock auto for about $160 (mind you this is three years after purchasing the vehicle new). While changing it I noticed oil all over the throttle body and a puddle sitting on the intake manifold behind the throttle body. I checked the compression on each cylinder to find no blow by. So where was the oil coming from? My only thought is that these patriots don’t burn excess oil from the pcv line routed to the intake like their supposed to. So my next plan to fix that oil issue is to add a oil catch can and solve the unburnt oil issue by dumping the collected oil from the can at every oil change. Hope this helps someone.
