Are Dodge Avengers good vehicles and do they have good specs on their history? Do they have a lot of mechanical problems?

To be 100% honest, Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth products aren't known for their reliability ( I know the MOPAR fanboys out there will be upset that I said this, but show me a truly reliable (as in Japanese class reliability) Dodge car after several years and I'll show you a put of gold at the end of the rainbow and and throw in a Lepruchan!). ------> Consumer Reports says the 2008 Avenger has sketchy reliability record....Engine and Electrical Systems are just average and Fuel System is reported as a major issue for this car. ------> My advice: Avoid it like the plague.

I've had rotten luck with repairs on these....I'm just sayin'....perhaps I just don't have the touch...these and cirrus and stratus and intrepid and even neon seems that perhaps a little extra tolerance window was given for maximum profit~ butyl rubber hoses are a prime example...few degrees away from chewing gum will NOT last ten years before the trouble begins with them~

Diane, the first 2 responses are right these cars aren't good if you expect to keep your car for more than a couple years, to many small maintenance issues. Good Luck!

Of the big three, Dodge/Chrysler is the worst for reliability.
