hi there mate i have a 1997 2.6 a4 its running lexus 225/45/17 is200 wheels it was sitting to high so i went on ebay and found my lowering kit its from a company called fk who deal all day with audi parts tell them what you have and they will help you mine has been lowered on the coilovers down by 5and a half inches the complete coilover kit cost me £220 thats 4xsprings and 4xcoilovers hope that helps you mate
FK will be a good setup but their cheaper sets can tend to rust out and leak after a couple years. If you can wait it out and save up for a little more expensive kit you will definitely benefit. Some cup kits can be had for under $900 and most coilovers for around $1100. Those cheap FK kits will definitely be a good fit and ride but you just might be looking at sooner maintenance then if you just spend a bit more.
and how much are the FK kits? and am i still looking at rust issues in a place like seattle where it hardly ever snows so there is no salt on the roads?
i got my fk kit on ebay for £220 there goood but as stated if you can afford a bit more go for the better kits
you'll probably be OK in WA. I was coming from new england where everything rusts. Do yourself a favor. If you go with the FK's just buy some clear rust resistant pray paint like rustoleum and give them a good coat. Don't get any on the shaft though. Or even a good primer then paint them whatever color you want. It should prevent from rusting for a while. And get a rubber sleeve for the shaft if you can. Anything to keep them from getting too much crap on/in them.
