is buying a mercedes benz over 100k a good buy?

Mercedes = very expensive to repair and maintain. Over 100,000 miles even worse. Also it depends on the price of the car and the depth of your wallet.
Owned many Mercedes.. the only models over 100K are the S class, SL and CL series and they all hold their resale values extremely well.
I think the original poster is asking about a Mercedes C- Class with over 100,000 miles NOT a Mercedes over $100,000.
Bob what are the best miles to buy an 08 to 11 C250 or C300 4 door
I personally would avoid a Mercedes unless it was new and with a full warranty.

It's been said many times here before... "there's nothing so expensive as a cheap Mercedes." Like most European vehicles, the basics (engine, transmission, etc...) will most likely last a long time, it's all the OTHER stuff (electrical, A/C, electronic, etc...) that can be frighteningly expensive to maintain. Buy only from whom you know, require documentation of all required maintenance, check CarFax and Auto-Check, have experienced M-B mechanic check the vehicle over.
EXCELLENT SHAPE EXCELLENT RUNNING CONDITION, NEW BRAKES MAINTAINED CHANGE OIL EVERY 5,OOO MILES BLACK ON BLACK
A good buy implies that you are getting value for your money. Price always must be considered, not just the miles.
I would not buy anything other than a Mercedes. They are the Worlds Greatest cars.
I have. 2014 3.5l c300 and a 2002 3.2l ml320. Cost less to repair than my 02 Ford f250. It's all about labor. Do it yourself.
I have a 2014 C250 with a hundred and twenty thousand miles on it. Never missed a service and have always taken care of the car. Still runs like a champ and never had one issue with it so far.
I own a 1998 E230 Mercedes which has clocked 255000 km (158500 miles). I've owned it for 12 years with very few issues. I service it at least once a year with a reputable company who do a good job. Sometimes I drive it to visit the kids across country without any problems. It's as strong as a tank. I've been told to never sell it because newer models are not as reliable as mine. My first Mercedes 230E (1983 model) went up to 400 000 km - another champ. I can't vouch for newer models but believe that Mercedes is a good brand and is nice to own. Just look after it and give it services as recommended.
love 2002 S55 amg .suspension seems to be the problem that the dealer can not correct. If you can not work on it . Do not buy used. 90000 miles 3 dual hydraulic steering pumps- hoses-shocks+labor over $20,000. bought at 30,000 miles
I have just bought a c220 cdi sport with 130630 on the clock never owned one before £4594 is this a good price come with 2 yrs warranty with the car
I want to know is a used 2013 to 2017 Mercedes Benz GL 450 with over 100K miles a good suv to buy used ?
I have 2013 mb black e350 4matic luxury with 55000 miles I will definitely keep it, replaced front brakes drums and oil change is all I did. If you drive a Mercedes you will never step down to lower brand..
I am on my fourth MB over the last 24 years. As a family we have 2012 e350 (90,000 mi) 2012 ML350 (84,000 mi), 2014 C240 (52,000 mi) and 2009 ML350 (132,000). Annual maintenance is important, but aside from the higher than average Service A and Service B maintenance schedules, cars are wonderful. A reputable and certified European Motors service shop or even YourMechanic.com are good alternatives.
Broad question but what should I expect In repairs going into buying a 2008 e350 with 90000 miles on it

love my 2001 S500 and do the maintenance myself so it doesn't hurt much but agree with the other reviews here that while the drivetrain is tough as a tank with reasonable care the luxary features that make it so much fun can be predictable to fail right on schedule. I have had to fix the plastic plumbing connector where the heater hose goes through the firewall (coolant loss), had the drivers window stick going up/down, battery dead due to current leak, washer tank leaking still, fuel filter causing slow start (Just changed) left mirror turn signal leds replaced, newest is #3 cylinder skipping on a trip, now dissapeared. You really will need to invest in an iCarsoft mercedes code reader and have time to enjoy all these little challanges.

I have over 230000 miles on a 2001 ML430 that I bought with 195000 miles on it for $1500... I had to replace radiator and water pump at 210000 miles (which I did myself for less than $400). Other than that, completely reliable.
What’s the maintenance like on a 1974 Mercedes 450 SE W116? Looking to buy it from someone for $5,500 & it has 105,000 miles. What are your thoughts?
I'm looking to buy a 2000 Mercedes e320 with over 300,000 miles I never owned one before any advice
I have a 2011 C300 Sport with 110k miles on it. I purchased it with only 40k miles and it's been BY FAR the best European car I've owned. In the 70k miles I've put on it, only one thing has broken (water pump) and it was only $500 and took 30 min. I'm now looking to replace the front brake pads for the first time and they're only $220 installed. I had an 2002 Audi A4 3.0 Avant that between 80k miles and 180k miles cost me $10k+ in repairs outside of tires, brakes, and oil changes. I finally parted with it because it needed California Catalytic converters which were going to set me back $4k, on a car that was worth $25oo. Long story short... they (Mercedes) sells roughly 70k of that model every year so there are plenty of them out there and they're not very complicated. The higher end you go the more issues you may find.
I'm looking at buying a MB Sprinter 2009, 158,000mls. 15CDI MWB. Should I be concerned about repairs coming up?

2010 CLS 550, 61,000 miles. What can I expect from it? Never owned but always wanted to own a nice MB. Appears to be in good shape, looks great.
Never buy a Mercedes, used or new unless money has little meaning to you. If you can shrug off $2,000 to $15,000 repairs bills then enjoy your fine German car.

Two years ago I got my MB GLE 350 4Matic 2016, with 14000k miles on it. I’m happy with my car so far. No major issues other than the fact that I usually have to spend $70 +/- a week in premium gas to go to work, and well, when I compared that with the money I used to spend on my 2003 Honda Civic, there is a big difference. However, my MB is safe, strong, makes me feel good when I drive it.

I have seen many taxi in Europe in cities (most people consider it to be the worst kind of driving because of the stop and go) and yet many of the Mercedes Benz Taxis exceed 350000km, I have even rode in one that blew me away at the smoothness of the engine (diesel) with 800000km and the cleanliness of the interior. My belief is if you maintain it well it will last long and today I would believe this of all cars.

I had a 2013 GL450, at 70k the radiator had to be replaced at 90k. The turbo and motor mounts and to be replaced at 90k. At 110K the suspension was replaced. Finally, at 126k, I went to the store and when I came out the car would not start. The dealership that I bought the car from, and did all the maintenance with, told me the engine was seized. No explanation why, but they said they would give us $500 for the car. Needless to say, I will not buy another Mercedes.
