2008 Chevy Impala defroster comes on, but just fogs up

My defroster is blowing, but just fogging up the car.
Had the thermostat replaced yesterday, because it was
intermittently giving codes of *engine hot, ac off*, not
working properly.
Got that fixed, all is well. Wake up this morning and the
defroster fan is on, but still fogging the windows. Also,
the ac doesn't work in defrost mode

Sounds like your heater core is leaking. Hope that helps! Jim
