Speed sensor

Asked by Minno Dec 22, 2015 at 07:11 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

08 Impala when backing out of my drive way, car
made aloud clicking noise and wouldn't allow me
to go forward or reverse. The screen said will not
allow speed in excess of 107. We think that it may
just be that the speed sensor needs replaced. Any
other ideas?

If there is a problem with the wheel sensor, have it scanned for an ABS code. If something is wrong with a wheel sensor, the scanner will tell you which one is bad.

Mine was actually doing th same thing ,try to see if it will drive in second gear at all if so then try taking out trans fuse it will basically put it back in limp mode so you can drive other gears but eventually soon need to replace either trans contold module or trans control solenoid.hooe it helps I have same year so I've got plenty of experience on weird thi gs that happens
