Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Back at the mechanic said was
nothing, just not to turn in the ac
while on the freeway, and to bring it
back later.
Trying to make time to go back (kids,
work, life) car stops running again.
Back to the mechanic, now for a new
transmission..!!!
I put a brand new transmission 2
years ago in that car.! How can this
be?
Is there is something the mechanic
could have missed or done to have
now the transmission to blow up.?
Please help.! I'm feeling taking
advantage of the situation, don't
know anything about cars..!!!!

Hi Meelosu, obviously with big jobs like this, costs are painful... Here is my advice, either the shop really messed things up or you're terribly unlucky. You and I, don't know the truth. Find another shop locally, and consider towing it to them. I find it rather strange that the car dies immediately after picking it up, do you know if they test drove it at all? Not sure why they said don't run the AC? By new engine, do you mean factory NEW, rebuilt, or a used engine? Also please describe your issue with the vehicle the first time, why did they recommend a new engine, what happened, what was their diagnosis, and also more details of "stopped running." The second time? Just dies while idling at the light? Did it start immediately after you cranked again? I am a shop owner, if car dies after a new engine, I'd ask you to come immediately back...
Sorry, the purpose of towing to the other shop is to have them review the engine, and the current diagnosis, just let them diagnose it from scratch. This can sometimes be a pain for another shop (please realize this) especially if they didn't do a great job with the engine install.
omg- you are tangled in a waking nightmare- cut your losses, and get another car- the Saturn is an extinct car, anyway-

Hope you got money back for your first transmission that went out, it has been recalled by GM and they reimburse any tranny work you had done to it.
If when putting in engine if torqe converted wasn't fully seated will blow transmission, bad conection to tcm module on trans
