Question type: Car Customization

Can any one recommend a Cool Air Intact System for an 08 436 HP?  One where you don't have to change your program.  I am told all systems will need to have a chip to make it run correctly.  I'm open to all recommendations.

From what I seen, the computer in your baby is very percise, of cousre if you modify the program you might "void" the warranty, if it was me I would wait until someone come out with a cold-air intake that doesn't require changing your program. It won't be long though. best of luck, cheers

K&N does a kit that is just a mechanical swap... but ur not gonna see much difference...

If you decide to put an intake in, K & N is the way to go. You won't see much of a difference however. Your cars engine control unite is smart enough to adjust the ari/fuel mix and the timing to compensate for the increase airflow. Don't owrry about reprogramming or voiding your warranty. Oh, and by the way, don't ask a mechanic at a stealership anything about performance parts. They're generally clueless!

Unless you have a power-adder such as a supercharger or turbo, then you won't see any difference with a cold air intake. K&N does make a bolt-on kit but the only difference you'll notice is that it looks pretty. I get an extra 20HP (verified on dyno) with a cold air inake on my Pontiac GTP but that's only because of the supercharger. You don't need a computer reprogram and it won't void your warranty. You only need to flash your computer when doing significant mods like camshaft, modifying fuel/air tables, shift points, stuff like that.
