Wiring issues after bed removal

Asked by Matt Apr 26, 2018 at 07:47 AM about the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500, my buddy and
I removed the bed to get the frame all washed up
and undercoated/ oiled. Also installed new tail pipes
so did a bit of welding on those and some on the
cab corners. And fixed up my mounted assisted
back up LED lights. (Wired separately) Soon as I got
the bed back on and plugged everything in, my
truck has had issues with wiring/ turn signals. Rapid
blinking on either side, slow blinker on passenger
side, fast on drivers, all lights blinking. Basically
looks like a school bus all lit up. We’ve tried tracking
down any pinched wires, tested fuses, unplugged
the battery and plug back in after 30 minutes, tried
replacing the circuit panel on the bed for the
connectors but still have the same issues.  Anyone
have similar issues or any tips I should look at to
figure this out?

1 Answer

LED bulbs may not have enough current draw for the signals to work properly. Try installing the old bulbs.
