I have a Pontiac torrent 2008 and I'm having a
issue with it over heating from going down the
road it's fine but if you idle it then the temp gauge
starts to raise to the red I've checked the relays
and their fine when it's idling I can put my foot on
the gas and the temperature gauge starts to go
down so I'm stumped please someone point me in

This is not an answer but a question. Has anyone found the answer to this overheating problem? I have a 2007 Pontiac T6 83.00+ miles and mine does the same thing. I've replaced everything mentioned in all these comments.
Don't have answer yet my head's are fine new radiator temp sensor water pump and thermostat yet still doing flushed still doing
hello, I just worked on an overheating issue. I checked the fuses, relays, hoses, the fans.all checked ok. I replaced the thermostat and coolant. the problem continue until I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and then the fans kicked in and the gauges dropped the temperature.
I have a 2006 and mine does exactly the same thing so I am definitely hoping the coolant's temperature sensor will correct this so annoying after so much time and money!
