How much fluid for transmission when transmission filter is changed

How much transmission fluid do have put in my HHR after changing the transmission filter.

how many guarts go in a new transmission for a 2009 hhr

2008 LS panel model, 2.2l automatic transmission owners manual says 6.9qts complete drain and fill. I would imagine for just filter change the torque converter would hold 2-3qrts. If u know your current level is good, use a drain pan that messures how much it catches.
