Something poured in gas tank?

Asked by GuruLHL98 Apr 10, 2019 at 08:45 PM about the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Question type: General

Car would not start, turned over but
no ignition. Shop said issue was due
to contaminants poured into gas
tank. $1500 to fix. White substance
found in tank. (Seen in picture).
Friends car, just wondering what
could have caused this, if poured in
tank or some other cause?

$1,500 seems high to clean out the gas tank but clearly it was needed. Most likely this is a result of vandalism. Maybe your insurance will pay?
