rust around windshield

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 65 GTO project that has rust at the bottom of the windshield area that also has spread to the front edge of the dashboard. Could anyone give me some information on how to go about getting replacement parts for this area and also how to repair it?
Thank you
Steve

Check Ames Performance parts (www.amesperf.com tel. 1-800-421-2637), "Lower Windshield Repair Panel #G134. The same parts fits all 64-67 Lemans, GTO. You will probably also need the trim clips that rust away. Ames has all the pieces you will need, including the stainless trim. If you want to try to restore what you got, POR15 is a great product. Works like paint, will solidify the rust that you have, converts it back into metal that you can drill, grind, fill, and repaint. But I recommend replacing the part. Good luck, and post some pictures!
what other rust issues do you have ? the best thing to do would be to get a donor car a 65 lemans would be the way to go , all the body parts are the same & they are not that expensive epsecially if you find one that has no engine. a mig wel
a mig welder you can get for around $150.00 from harbor frieght. there are a few places you can get parts from like amesperformance.com , yearone.com, performanceyears.com & a few others ,but they are not cheap . when it comes to body parts its cheaper to buy used. you find good parts from hemmings.com, specialinterest.com, classicalpontiac.com there are alot more .is this an original gto or clone , what engine is in it? 4 spd or auto?
