1970 Buick Riviera

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We put a 455 Buick motor from a 1971 Buick Riviera into a 1970 Buick Riviera.
We are having trouble with the generator light on the dash.
It won't go out. Stays lit when car is running. Kills the battery when the car is not running.
We installed a new Alternator & Regulator thinking this was the problem.
Any ideas? Thank You!

Is the ignition wire to the alternator connected up right? If not, the battery will discharge itself over the alternator. The 5 watt tops of the warning light would take a week to drain the battery...
