Hello, There are several different possible cuases for this freeze. First, you need to make sure that there is no leaking in your car that could build up ice. In addition, the metals in Cavaliers are known to freeze early and solidly, although normally the door locks are the first to freeze up. Lastly, make sure your car is completely winterized. I bought a car in Atlanta, and the Boston weather caused my antifreeze (called "coolant" in Atlanta =D), windshield wiper fluid, and lack of dry gas to have problems. Best of luck! CarGrrl
