AC troubles

Asked by abrightwell Jul 20, 2011 at 11:04 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Cavalier. While in park, the ac blows warm air, but I can hear what sounds like a motor run and cut off every few seconds. While I am driving though, it starts to blow cold air.  Any idea what this may be and if its something I have to go to the shop for or can it be fixed at home?  Trying not to go to the shop if i dont have too, but you know how that goes.

sounds like it is low on R134A,what you here is the ac clutch kicking on-off.this is how the 134 does,at idle it gets warm, going down the road it gets cold again, its just the way this stuff works, add a can,it should fix your problem.
