I had the same problem with my 2005 Chevy Cavalier, I changed the crank sensor, checked the fuel pressure, changed the starter, changed spark plugs, even bought a new battery, still the car would crank but not start. I decided to check my timing gears. Long and behold, I found a worn notch on the back center of one timing gear. This caused the timing chain to skip and throw it off timing. I decided to replace both gears, it's under $30.00 each, not expensive. When you install the gears, make sure you align the dots and notches to the timing chain, the timing chain should be color coded. Parts are cheap, but the labor is very challenging, but it can be done. I am not a great mechanic, but I did it myself. Too broke to send it to a mechanic. After, I put everything back together, it started up quickly! Hope this info helps.... Good luck!
