Do Canadian cars have 13 numbers for a vin or do all cars have to have 17 numbersc

I know own a 1969 Buick custom Special 350 3 spd on the tree. The car is a
an 1 owner car all matching numbers. how do i trace this car if the vin only has
13 numbers?

All vehicles that are approved by there dealership and passed all safety inspections are suppose to have a 17 digit vin for it to be on the streets
