what axle do i have?

what rear axle is in a 1972 buick skylark LL B 221 is on the axle tube. i know it is a 2.73 gear. open carior. it is a 10 bolt with two ears on the bottom and two weld holes for the tubes. it has bolt in axles. on the ring gear is1234668  41 15 cmc it looks like it had a 10 bolt cover with the C notches on the sides . i DONT know if it is a 8.5 or a 8.2 can some one tell me. i'm looking to change the gears and add a posi to it thanks

I would have to say 8.5. Reading my 1972 Buick chassis service manual, under differential overhaul, it states throughout the chapter that for removal of 8.5 use this J tool and for 9-3/8 use a different J tool. I figure the j tool number isnt necessary but the fact that those 2 size ring gears are mentioned throughout the chapter that it might help you
