Cigarette, in windshield vent. Is this a potential fire risk?

I dropped a lit cigarette down the vent by the
windshield.  It went out, but will this potentially
cause a fire if I don't retrieve it, and/or how can
I?

Modern cigs self extinguish , It'll smell but I don't think it'll ignite , If it's a menthol it might smell good

Nope, you're good. The car would have already burned down by now if anything was going to happen. To put this in perspective, the defroster grille of my '03 S10 Pick Up broke apart and a few pieces fell down into the defroster duct. It's fine and those pieces are much larger than a cigarette butt! Hope that helps! Jim
