what wrong with my chevy truck 2002 when it stalls out alot and won't start back up for two mins

the battery is old...and the ground connection (black cable off the battery) is not Solidly connected to ground and the ground on the engine block...these must be free of corrosion...use a wirebrush and put 'em back together...cost....FREE~.....okay a NEW battery...the non lead batteries jump ship after about five years (stop accepting a charge ten percent per year)~
