Some fuel injected engines when run out of gas must be bled to get the air out before it will run. As to how? Give me a little time I will look around.

Try some starting fluid. If it fires, you have spark so it's a fuel problem.

If your fuel pump is in the gas tank, you may have dirt in the fuel pump. This could damage the fuel pump.

had same problem in my 03 Malibu yesterday ran out of gas and after putting gas back in it would turn over but wouldn't even try to start. it turns out it was the anti theft system . turn key to the "on" position and leave it there for 10 minutes. antitheft light will go away as well as all your problems
