is there a emergency shut off switch on a 2001chevy Malibu ?
Car wont start, changed fuel filter still nothing. Car will start when
spraying with starter fluid. Pls help asap as I am doing these repairs
along side road.
there is an ASD (automatic shut down) relay when pressures are wrong~
...Not like the Ford trucks with a cute little red button under the dash~
will snoop out a schematic if it will help you~ it's just a relay....look in your relay box...should be labeled on the lid~ ASD~
put the key to the "on" position...do you hear any fuel circulating through the rail? you might have a fuel pump relay on the fritz~
if you have a second person have them listen at the gas tank filler and see if they can hear the pump run even if only momentairilyhen you turn the key to the on position. gas cap off.
don't hear the pump ? you were driving and it shut down ? good chance it's the pump.
if you ran it dry or near dry the pump will have cooked itself dead...or near dead~
