One way to find out is go to your local auto parts store and get a price on a new timing belt, when they look it up it will say whether it is an interference or non-interference engine. I know some GM cars use Toyota motors which are non-interference. Ha ha, the Pontiac Vibe is a Toyota Matrix with different badges.
