How to open trunk of 72 cutlass convertible if key won't turn the lock

If the key did open the lock at one time, take a can of WD-40 and stick the thin red nozzle extension into the lock and fill it with spray. Work the key back and forth and it should open.

If neither of those suggestions work, pour yourself a vodka drink. Get a large standard screwdriver and insert it into the keyhole. Get vise grips and clamp onto the handle of the screw driver and twist the whole lock assembly a quarter turn clockwise. Or call the local lock smith... Best of luck

I just loosened the rear bumper to gain access to the plate that holds the lock assembly in the trunk lid carefully got the screws out pulled the clip out pull the lock back 3/4 of a inch twist the whole lock and was in. NO DAMAGE TO ANYTHING! back seat not an option stereo crap in the way
