can i reset the fuel system with a succession of gas pedal pumps?

It's usually a good idea to reset the fuel system right after you change the fuel pump and in doing so you would use the ignition by turning it to the ACC position and hold it(2- 3secs) turn it off and repeat 3-4 times.
